IPP renewed intermountain power plant is a large coal-fired power plant at Delta, Utah, US. It has an installed capacity of 1,900 MW, is owned by the Intermountain Power Agency, and is operated by the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power. The plant includes a HVDC converter. Sanria was tasked to undertake the detailing of IPP renewed intermountain power plant. The project weighed 6700 tones and comprised of 45 sequences.The scope of work of the project included the engineering and detailing outputs for steel fabrication and erection of the structure. The steel has been fabricated, and the structure has been successfully erected.
1. In this job we have 2 units - Unit 3 and Unit 4.
Our challenge is to ensure that assemblies in both units 3 and 4 follow the same numbering series. To accomplish this, we first completed the connections and finalized the construction of Unit 3. Then, we copied the finalized connections to the Unit 4 building and assigned matching numbers to the assemblies in both units. This resulted in an increase in the quantity in assembly drawing, with 01 quantity for Unit 3 and 01 quantity for Unit 4.
2. We have about 500 pipe supports and lugs in this job. Detailing these using the pipe support schedule, lug schedule, and standard drawings is a challenging task, especially because we have not done this kind of pipe support and lug detail before for SSS customer.
3. Modelling and detailing of built up columns and built up trusses.
4. Modelling and detailing of sloped horizontal brace connections.
Auto-connection applicator was used to automate the connections. Components were created related to safety hole, column reinforcement plate.
This project was a great opportunity to showcase our team's expertise and commitment to large industrial jobs. Delivering high-quality service on schedule earned positive client feedback, motivating us to tackle future challenges with even greater drive.
