Project Description

The Speciality orthopedics hospital project is a multifaceted construction project that includes four unique areas called A, B, C, and D. These areas are interconnected and enhanced by various architectural and structural elements. This project is a comprehensive construction undertaking featuring a wide range of structural and architectural elements. The project weighed 396 tones and comprised of 9 sequences. The scope of work of the project included the engineering and detailing outputs for steel fabrication and erection of the structure. The steel has been fabricated, and the structure has been successfully erected.

Challenges

Detailed design, modelling and detailing of Stairs.

The initial design drawings provided were significantly lacking in detail, presenting a major challenge. Critical information needed for accurate steel detailing was missing, which necessitated extensive coordination and additional design work.

Coordination with joist, Mechanical, Electrical, RTU's, AHU Unit Air-Colled Chilled Curb & Elevators.

The customer imposed an extremely tight deadline, demanding the delivery of all 9 sequences within just two weeks.

Upgrades

The project saw significant upgrades through automation tools, enhancing efficiency and accuracy. Virtuele Auto Connection processed 790 out of 900 shear connections, reducing manual effort. Custom Components optimized 10 baseplate varieties with anchors, ensuring seamless integration. Tekla Extensions improved detailing by managing UDAs like reference drawing numbers and cost codes. These enhancements optimized workflows, ensuring high-quality outcomes.

This project enriched our expertise in steel detailing, connection design, and interdisciplinary coordination. We gained valuable experience in managing large-scale construction challenges and delivering high-quality results under tight deadlines. The skills acquired will be instrumental in tackling future projects with confidence and efficiency.
